I’m thrilled for this years iconic Parade of Homes put on by the Home Builders Association! With post-pandemic disruptions and supply chain issues, it’s been quite the challenge for our home builders. I couldn’t wait to pounce on this years event! There were 8 physical new homes to tour this year plus 1 virtual.

A Showcase of Architectural Brilliance

We saw, the best of the best. Which highlights how this event brings together builders, designers, and homeowners to display their most exceptional properties. Whether you’re a prospective homebuyer, a design enthusiast, or someone simply looking for home inspo (like us, since we’re on the hunt for both bathroom and kitchen remodel ideas) this event has something for everyone.

Diverse Styles, One Event

One of the standout features of the Parade of Homes is its incredible diversity. You’ll find a wide range of architectural styles, from sleek and modern to timeless and traditional. As you meander through the homes, you’ll witness how each builder and designer has put their unique stamp on their creations.

Innovations in Home Design

Beyond the stunning aesthetic beauty of the homes on display, the Parade of Homes offers a glimpse into the latest trends and innovations in home design and technology. From smart home systems to sustainable and energy-efficient features, you’ll see how these homes are not just places to live but also spaces that embrace the future. I went with my kiddos and hubby who is a geek-a-saurus when it comes to the wiring of a home. He’s a Network Engineer and former cable guy, so he knows a thing or two about installing Cat6 cables. And, you better believe he pointed out things that a technology laymen like myself wouldn’t even THINK to look for.

Landscaping and Outdoor Living

Don’t forget to step outside! Many of the Parade of Homes entries include beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces and innovative outdoor living areas. As you explore these gardens and patios, you’ll discover how outdoor spaces can be transformed into extensions of the home, perfect for relaxation and entertainment.

Local Artistry and Craftsmanship

This event is not just about houses; it’s a celebration of local craftsmanship and creativity. The builders, designers, and contractors behind these homes had such a vision for detail. And their dedication to quality craftsmanship showed through all the homes we walked through.

Event Details Worth Noting

I love how incredibly affordable this event is at only $10 a ticket. When I went to the Circle K to purchase them I inquired about whether kids needed a ticket and/or if they were allowed. I of course, was helped by a brand new worker who didn’t know anything about the tickets or the event, which made our appearance even more hilarious when we showed up to the first home.

Spoiler alert: they recommend NOT to bring children. Plus kids 3 years and older do in fact, need a ticket. Big fat whoops on our part. I didn’t even realize this until we pulled up to the third house and that was the third bullet point on the brochure we received with the tickets. *insert forehead slap*

And, by the second home tour, our 4 year old shouts “I need to go potty” from the top of his lungs.

Now, not only do you have dozens of people meandering in-and-out of these homes, but these are pristine, clean and gorgeous properties. They even had perfectly tied black bows on the toilet lids like a luxury present. Umm…yeah, I didn’t allow my sticky toddler to pee there. So we raced to the nearest Taco Bell to let our little man relieve himself. Crisis averted.

I would also recommend keeping the provided shoe booties with you to all the homes you visit. They won’t allow shoes, bare feet or even socks. And strollers are also not permitted. The brochure that comes with the tickets are GOLD. Keep them for your home reference since they list out all the builder information, contractors and subcontractors they use plus the floorplans of each home. You just never know when those might come in handy.

We were able to visit 4 out of 8 total homes (before meltdowns and lunchtime ensued) and can’t wait to finish up the rest of the parade this week. One ticket is valid for all five days of the Parade, and 1 visit per home. These are all newly constructed homes so they may or may not accurately show up on Google Maps, which is another reason to keep that handy brochure. It provides all the driving directions to each property. Just look for the Blue and Yellow Parade of Homes directional signs to reassure that you’re headed the right way.

Our toddler’s favorite part was getting our tickets stamped per home. And this year, if you visit all 8 homes you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $2500 closet package from All City Closet Co. How cool is that?

There’s still 3 chances left to see these homes September 13 (1-7pm) plus 16th and 17th (9-5pm)! You can rewatch my reel here to see the magic for yourself.

Until next year!
